Wood Chase Rebuild – Mukwonago, WI

Fox River completed a full rebuild and restoration of the customer’s chimney crown and chase. The project began with removing deteriorated crown materials and inspecting for any rotten wood, which was repaired as needed. A new tiered wood crown was constructed with an expanded drip edge to properly direct water away from the chase. The crown was then wrapped in custom aluminum trim, eliminating the need for future painting or staining.

The existing chimney chase cover was replaced with a custom-fabricated enameled steel cover, measured and built to fit precisely. The flue topper cap was removed and reinstalled with a new storm collar, all caulked and sealed for weather protection.

In addition, Fox River removed the existing siding from the chase above the roofline, inspected the vapor barrier and structure for defects, and addressed any necessary repairs. The chase was wrapped in Tyvek with seams taped and sealed, and ice and water shield was applied for added protection. New siding was installed, and all surfaces were properly caulked and sealed.

This project not only restored the function and integrity of the chimney but also provided long-lasting protection and a clean, updated look for the home.
